Hey, Everyone! I’m the keynote speaker for Pennwriters’ 2021 Virtual Conference!
Here’s the official press release:
Pennwriters 34th Annual Pennwriters Conference is coming your way virtually. Registration is now open for the three-day conference and for two intensives held the day before the conference. Except for sitting with friends in the lounge and at meals, the conference will still have all the parts you love! The conference begins at 9:00 am on May 14 and runs through Sunday, May 16.
If you’re sold already…here’s the registration link. Or read on for more information about my workshops.
I'm giving a 3-to-4-hour intensive on Thursday morning, teaching about great things like testing your story idea, maximizing the impact of your scenes and creating characters that "stick" with people long after they've finished your book.
Those of you who have attended my workshops know that I don’t simply prattle on, giving you lofty ideas that you can’t implement when you get home. I give you tools and teach you how to use them to make your story better, your scenes work harder and your characters shine!
Friday night, I'm the keynote speaker. I don't want to give away anything but I'm prettydamned funny. The teacher in me won’t let me get in front of a crowd for 40 minutes and not help you improve somehow. So, there will be a reason to bring a notebook. Tucked into the chuckles are things you will want to remember.
Saturday, I'll be teaching Keeping the Tension Alive in a Romance novel, focusing exclusively on Romance, since that is my jam. If you write romance and want to learn how to draw in readers and keep them turning pages…this is the workshop for you!
There are tons of other great speakers in the conference lineup, including Nancy Springer of Enola Holmes fame. Nancy is a friend of mine and longtime member of the group. If you’re curious about Enola Holmes…check it out on Netflix!
If you’re interested in attending, here’s the registration link:
The conference is all virtual. No worry about viruses or vaccines or travel plans (LOL) and the speakers are diverse and wonderful.
You can also attend some events and not others. You'll see that when you see the registration sheet.
I hope you'll join me...especially for the keynote. I'm going to tell you some things about luck you might not have realized.
